September saw the moment of my first Dutch release, in the shape of “Bataafse Rovers”. Let me tell you some more about this track.
The song tells the tale of the Batavians, a warrior tribe, whose people were able to resist the Romans for 2 full years (Revolt of the Batavi). During this time, they sacked many Roman barracks and eventually even took the mighty city of Castra Vetera, which is present-day Nijmegen.
So far, the song has been well-received by both native and non-native speakers. My foreign friends tell me they love to hear me sing in Dutch, so you’ll definitely be hearing more of that.
